Mina Meincke was born to Henry and Margaret Hoeft Meincke on August 2, 1906 in Lake City, MN.
She graduated from Winona Teachers College and the University of Michigan School of Nursing and went on to teach at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. While in Minnesota, she married Dr. Perry T. Walters and the couple had three sons before Mina was widowed in 1943.
She remarried in La Crosse on September 4, 1948 to Dr. John J. Satory, with whom she had two more children, Christine and John J. Satory, Jr.
Mina Satory typifies the women of means who, not having to work to support themselves, found fulfillment in community service. For her civic work, she earned recognition in the form of several awards, including the Outstanding Contribution Award from the State Association from Mental Health in 1958 and the Greater La Crosse Chamber of Commerce's Woman of the Month Award in February 1971.
She was an active as a member of the Republican party and served as president of the La Crosse County Federation of Republican Women and vice president of the Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women.
Mina Satory passed away on November 20, 1982 in La Crosse.
