LCHS is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Executive Director to lead the next chapter of our growth. For more than 125 years, LCHS has preserved, interpreted and shared the stories that shape La Crosse County. Today, we stand at an exciting point in time and our next Executive Director will play a pivotal role in advancing this vision.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and public face of LCHS, responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, fundraising/development and community engagement. The ideal candidate brings a blend of nonprofit management experience, collaborative leadership and a passion for local history. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and believes in the power of local history to build belonging, understanding and civic pride.
Tiny Treasures: Models and Miniatures of La Crosse Exhibit

Tiny Treasures showcases a delightful collection of handcrafted models and miniatures that bring our city’s history to life. From a Mississippi steamboat and a Christmastime dollhouse aglow with vintage cheer to a detailed model of La Crosse’s old post office, each piece tells a story of creativity, craftsmanship, and community pride.
This exhibit is at the La Crosse Area Heritage Center at 506 Main Street. The museum is open Thursday-Saturday, 12:00-4:30, last admission at 4:00.

You will not want to miss this unique opportunity to see beautiful Tiffany, rose and storied stained glass windows. These windows are a source of contemporary delight and make the past present.
