The Hackner Family Headstone

This wooden carving is a model of the Hackner family headstone in the Catholic Cemetery of La Crosse.

The model on the left scale marks, evidence of hand carving, and pencil markings denoting changes to be made to the final product by the E. Hackner Co.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Plaster Model

This Sacred Heart of Jesus plaster model is reinforced with horsehair and a wooden framework. If you look closely, there are visible pencil marks noting the scale of the piece for the woodcarvers.
