La Crosse County Historical Society

June 4-July 13, 2019 La Crosse County Historical had an exhibition of over 100 years of historic dresses at the La Crosse Public Library.

Juxtapose jux·ta·pose /ˈjəkstəˌpōz/

Definition: to place different things side by side as to compare them or contrast them or to create an interesting effect.

This exhibition was the inspiration of Professor Jeff Stolz of Viterbo University. As he did research in the collections of the La Crosse County Historical Society, the stories of these women, and the local addresses link to them, made the fashions come alive.
